Bike Month 2020

Bike to Work Day Postponed_page header
The 30th Annual SANDAG Bike to Work Day, scheduled for May 14, 2020, has been postponed.

We are taking guidance from national, state, and local agencies, including the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, which recently issued a stay-at-home order prohibiting all non-essential gatherings. While these recent orders do not currently extend to May, we believe it is our responsibility to protect our participants, staff, and volunteers, and that we must do all that we can to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our region.

We hope to reschedule Bike to Work Day later this year when we can all enjoy a safe and healthy Bike to Work Day experience.  Any participant registration or pit stop application already received will be saved. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Bike to Work Day project manager, Phoenix Smith, at phoenix.smith@sandag.org.

SANDAG remains committed to building the “GO by BIKE” Regional Bike Network to make biking a convenient and safe option for everyday transportation needs. We hope you’ll consider opportunities to continue to GO by BIKE.

2020 GO by BIKE Mini-Grant program. In January, 21 organizations throughout the San Diego region who were awarded $60,000 to put on a variety of programs and events encouraging participation in Bike Month. For the time being, these grants have been canceled due to COVID-19 risks. Grantees have been given the option to amend their grant agreements for 2021.
